I often have Order in the Library as a center. My students love to choose a character, play, and try to get to the next level. It's great because they are practicing putting books in order. They have fun and I know they're practicing "shelving" - win-win!

I love it! This would also be perfect for training parent volunteers on how to shelf, or finding out if they need to be assigned to a different job. LOL

I have been using it for over a year. I have it on my Destiny home page. The students are given a choice of playing that, looking up books on Destiny or reading a book or magazine when they finish checking out.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog. I have the Truffula trees by my library door, they are adorable. I have been trying to get Order in the Library to use in my library. When I click on your link it says I don't have access to this. Is there a trick to this.

Thanks Jan! I just tried to get on to Order in the Library and am also getting a forbidden access link. Their site has been down before, usually not for long. I hope the University of Texas didn't stop Order in the Library completely - my kids will be devastated!
DeleteThanks, I have been trying for a couple weeks so we will see.
DeleteThank you, Jan
I was showing my pupil librarians this last week but now the link is forbidden for us too, I hope it gets back on line as it is very good for the kids.
